| The
STM Sensor Technologie München GmbH is a young and innovative
company founded as a spin off from a university research project.
Guided by the conviction that the general trend in sensors leads to
ever decreasing size and higher performing products, STM from its
very beginning followed the track of miniaturization. Through
the use of high performance optics and highly flexible electrical
conductors, STM pursues a technologically superior approach to the
use of fiber optics.
Through Beam
Sensors, Reflective Sensors, Fork Sensors and Optical Frame Sensors
made by STM are used in nearly all areas of industrial automation.
STM-products are found in CD and Data Storage equipment,
Semiconductor Industries, Textile Industries, Special Machine
Building and Robotics equipment, Packaging and Paper Industries,
Food and Beverages Industries, Aerospace, Automotive Industries. Frame Sensors An optical field of high homogeneity and density is generated within the frame. Anything that moves through this optical frame generates an electrical impulse, which is transmitted to the output as an electrical signal and can be further processed. The optical frame resolution (i.e. the size of particles which can be detected) and the length of the pulse generated can be adjusted via a potentiometer.
